In the mid 1970s' my mother received a simple sewing machine from her brother who had won it in a contest. She used this same lime green machine to do small sewing projects and mending for 30+ years. My father recently bought her a newer used machine and to my great delight she passed her old one down to me! I am a new wife of 6 months and I've liked sewing for quite a few years now, but am just now starting to take my basic knowledge and grow it into something more.
My goal for this blog is to do (at least) one simple sewing project per week for one year, progressively making the projects more challenging in order to build my skills. In one year (or less) I hope to be at a level where I can make a dress!
My projects will come from tutorials I find online, books, magazines, your suggestions, or my own inspirations.
I will do my best to document each project with photos or videos so you can see my progress and even join in if you like.
I truly hope you enjoy reading this blog and maybe even get some inspiration of your own!
